The Russell Varian Prize

The Russell Varian prize honors the memory of the pioneer behind the first commercial Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectrometers and co-founder of Varian Associates. The prize is awarded to a researcher based on a single innovative contribution (a single paper, patent, lecture, or piece of hardware) that has proven of high and broad impact on state-of-the-art NMR technology. The prize aims to award the initial contribution that laid the ground for the specific technology of great importance in state-of-the-art NMR. It is sponsored by Varian Inc.

The Raymond Andrew Prize

For the Raymond Andrew Prize 2008 the AMPERE Prize Committee is seeking your help in searching for qualified candidates who completed their dissertation during the period of 2006/2007. The prize will be presented during the EUROMAR in St. Petersburg (Russia) from 6th to 11th July 2008.

The MRC Wiley Prize

John Wiley & Sons (Publisher since 1807) through its Journal “Magnetic Resonance in Chemistry” is sponsoring the “Magnetic Resonance in Chemistry Award for Young Scientists”. John Wiley & Sons will offer three Awards of €500, payable to the Awardees during the EUROMAR-2008 conference. The Prize Winners will be selected by the EUROMAR Chairman with the help of the Program Committee -2008 on the base of the submitted abstracts of the young scientists’ presentations.

Three Awardees will each have a chance to give a lecture. These lectures will be announced in the Congress program as the “Magnetic Resonance in Chemistry Award for Young Scientists Prize Winner”. The length of the lectures and their placement in the Congress program will be defined by the Program Committee and Chair of the conference.

The Award will be presented by a representative of the John Wiley & Sons or Editor of the Journal “Magnetic Resonance in Chemistry” to the Awardees in a small ceremony before the Lecture.

Laureates of the Zamaraev International Charitable Scientific Foundation

The laureates of the Zamaraev International Charitable Foundation in the field of magnetic resonance will be selected on the base of the traditional procedure by the reviewing the papers submitted to the Foundation a half a year before the Congress. Two winners will have a right to give the reports in the Satellite EUROMAR meeting – NMRCM School on July 4-5, 2008.

Student Grants

As a result of the generosity of the major sponsors, a number of EUROMAR grants for students covering part of the fee will be available from February 2007. A prospective grantee is required to present a poster. The form of Application is available on website. Participants applying for an EUROMAR grant should indicate why they need financial support. Travel grants will only be available in very exceptional cases.

There is no additional charge for those students who also participate in the NMRCM Summer School (July 4-5), the EUROMAR Organizing Committee covers the participation.
