Richard R. Ernst Prize
The Richard R. Ernst Prize in Magnetic Resonance is named after magnetic resonance pioneer and Nobel Laureate Prof. Richard R. Ernst, and is awarded to recognize “recent beneficial applications of Magnetic Resonance”. The Prize comes with a purse of 15,000 Euros; it is sponsored by the Bruker BioSpin Corporation, and is given annually at the EUROMAR conference prize session. The next prize will be awarded at EUROMAR 2025 in Oulu.
Raymond Andrew Prize
Based on a generous donation, Groupement Ampere has founded the Raymond Andrew Prize in memory of Professor Dr. Raymond Andrew and to honor his pioneering work in the field of magnetic resonance. The prize is annually awarded to young scientists for an outstanding PhD thesis in Magnetic Resonance. The next prize will be awarded at EUROMAR 2025 in Oulu.
Ampere Prize for Young Investigators
The Ampere Prize for Young Investigators is awarded to recognize outstanding achievements in the field of magnetic resonance of a Young Principal Investigator at the beginning of her/his independent career (a “rising star”). The prize is given biennially, with the next one being awarded at EUROMAR 2025 in Oulu.
Varian Young Investigator Award
The Varian Young Investigator Award is named after two pioneers of Magnetic Resonance.
The Varian Young Investigator Award aims to recognize a single investigator, for their achievements, in any area of magnetic resonance. The prize will be awarded for significant and innovative advancements in instrumentation and/or method development. Emphasis will be placed on science accomplished in independent positions in academy or industry. Eligible recipients are those within the first 4 years of their first independent faculty appointment and not exceeding 10 years since their Ph.D.
The prize is awarded biennially at the opening session of the EUROMAR conference (even numbered years).
The next prize will be awarded at EUROMAR 2026 in Gothenburg.
Shimon Vega Travel Award
The Shimon Vega Travel Award was established by the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel in memory of Prof. S. Vega, who for many decades was an active lecturer and participant at EUROMAR. The travel award consists of $1,000 and is given to a PhD student or postdoctoral fellow researching in the fields of solid-state NMR and/or DNP.
The next prize will be awarded at EUROMAR 2025 in Oulu.
JMR/JMRO Young Scientist Award
Elsevier sponsors four Journal of Magnetic Resonance Young Scientist Awards at the annual EUROMAR conference, consisting each of a check for US$ 500, a one year electronic subscription to the Journal of Magnetic Resonance, and a Certificate. The awards are given to graduate students or post-doctoral fellows, whose unsolicited submissions for an oral presentation have been selected based on excellence by the EUROMAR scientific program committee. Before their oral presentations, the awardees are announced as winners of the "Journal of Magnetic Resonance" by the session chair or an editor of JMR/JMRO.
MRC Poster Awards
The Wiley journal Magnetic Resonance in Chemistry (MRC) sponsors two 150 € poster awards at the annual Euromar conference. They are awarded by the scientific committee on the basis of submitted abstracts, to outstanding contributions by young scientists working in the development or applications of magnetic resonance in chemistry.
Euromar and Ampere Student Travel Awards
At EUROMAR 2025 in Oulu, Euromar and Ampere will provide, respectively, 20 and 10 Student Travel Awards of 500 € each.
